Ex-Sl Members List

Recommended Posts

James has a log over at Tnation in the over 35 lifter section. I think he already knows about this place anyway. Tuplad and MPetry made it over here but they haven't posted for a while. I think Jim Slade left SL long ago. Some of the others ring a bell but I don't know where to find them.

You can find Ironblaydes blog on the externally linked blogs section. Ironblaydes house of squats.

Greg Prince runs his own business and the logs were eating up too much of his time. He is a truly strong lifter who was a great source of support and inspiration on the old forum.

And I received my old logs in the e-mail this morning. I first discovered Stronglifts in late 2007 and really appreciated the site in the early days. I lurked around there and found tons of useful information and decided upon my return to lifting that I would keep a log there. The forum was great, but damn I wish I had never let him have my e-mail address. It seemed that was when not only did I receive all the Andy Bolton crap, which I knew he was sending, but also all kinds of penis enlargment and other spam e-mails as well. When I told him to remove my e-mail most all the spam mail I was receiving quit appearing in my in box. What a douche, he turned into exactly what he preached against in the early days.

I'm over it. I took the high road and just requested my logs. Five days later I got both of them. No drama.

@ Red: Deadstrength stopped posting on SL a while back and never made it over here. He moved out to L. A. to study film and is probably extremely busy. Don't know if he's still lifting.

I got two of my four SL logs with no trouble (WTF was I thinking making four separate logs anyway?). Saw some names I miss:

Sparkle

Leida

bobu (I know he's a member here, but he never posts)

Jason Action (his real name -- how cool is that?)

Hayt

Rory O'Keefe

Dennis Hibbins

Yeah, DS was a cool guy. I remember we had posted tons of good info on the anabolic diet thread, it's all gone now.

I miss also Cynical/Reign, Antman, ShawnB and few other users that stopped posting before doomsday.

Received my log too.

I noticed he deleted my second to last post where I expressed my concerns as well as announcing I'm done with the SL forum.

I found James' training log: http://tnation.t-nation.com/free_online_forum/sports_body_training_performance_bodybuilding_senior/james_training_log_strength_and_conditioning_using_hp_mass_principles;jsessionid=F33E082B0E6D0AA40E8CCCF72CE67144-mcd01.hydra

I don't know if he'll want to migrate here but I'm going to read it since he's done some of the same programs as me and it's interesting to read about the training of a farily advanced lifter in his age group.

I have not received my logs yet, though with everyone swarming him for copies of logs it may take a while.

**Edit**

I received my logs. I forgot that after the banning, I created a rule that sends everything from Mehdi directly into trash.

Good to see people getting their logs back.

Is anyone still genuinely upset about getting kicked from Stronglifts.com? It's been 5 months even getting over breakups doesn't take this long.

This...

Can not believe how many people are still bothered by him or what he does, this does look like a bitter break up indeed.

I got rid of all social profiles (forums, facebook, etc.) and holy shit does it feel good. I do my own thing trainingwise, keep a log where nobody can comment and curl myself to death! Screw a Mehdi and a Rippetoe :D

- Tuplad (is he here..?)

I'm here alright, Wanderlei :D I lurk once in a while, don't post much.

I was a member of SL, never posted much but kept a log for some months until about a year ago. It's a shame what happened with the site, at some point the writing was on the wall about the sellout but it all came slowly so I didn't really see it.

I discovered SL in April 2009 when I had just joined a commercial gym in an effort to lose weight for my wedding in july of that year. After doing some silly things on isolation machines for about a week I thought I wanted to get stronger and googled something which led me to SL. It actually worked quite well for me and gain strength and lost weight (or BF I wasnt really weighting myself). I lurked a lot on the forums and actually joined about one or two weeks before Mehdi closed it to new members.

I recognize some of you guys even if you don't remember me and look forward to calling IronStrong my lifting home now.

I've been away from lifting for one year, due to my stupidity and several personal reasons, including moving and being an idiot. I never achieved amazing results (see my signature) but I just started training again and have decided to get to those numbers and well beyond.

Let's see how it goes.

Welcome kudelv :)

Don't be so hard on yourself - I too have had time away, for legitimate... and not-so-legitimate reasons. Either way, that doesn't matter - what does is what you are achieving right now. And everyone's results are relative.

If you trained before, you should be able to gain back your strength pretty quickly, then it's just a matter of time to set some new PRs. Just pick a program and dig in (if you're looking for a new program, check out the Average F'N Strength Program)

Thanks bluestreak :) I find that being hard on myself works for moving my lazy person to the gym B)

I actually started on Starting Strength since I always wanted to do Power Cleans (though I will start them in a couple of weeks after I get my DL a little higher) and I bought a copy of the third edition for Kindle last week (which is great since the physical book can easily cost 40 € in Germany).

Hi all SL'ers

I've moved over here after just finding the SL site not useful.

Apart from the commercialisation, it's just not useful anymore

Since this is a public site, I haven't registered with my full name but I'll reach out to the guys who were kind enough to comment in my old posts on SL

I was a new SLer but quickly tired of the constant emails begging for money. Besides I found the Average F'n Program, and it seems to be more of what I am looking for.

Welcome drewjohn and Court. It's good to see that people are refusing to be forced to pay for something that's available for free. I'm sure that you'll enjoy our program and soon become a success story.

New to IS, stumbled upon this website a few weeks ago and noticed a large amount of ex-SL members on here. I was a member on SL for several months before it turned into a paid membership and I became a paid member as well up until a few days ago.

Anyone have any questions on things they're curious about with the current SL forums?
