Anyone Tried Any Of The Free 531 Apps For Android?

Recommended Posts

Hi fellow ISers,It has come to my attention that there are a number of free '531' apps, I find this intriguing, has anyone used any of them, and are they any good? best, IYO?

I really like having a spreadsheet to do my math for me, and I may be without my PC for a while

when I finish my run of B2L, I may try running 531 again, provided I have a way to not have to do a bunch of math for myself

BTW, my phone is not the latest tech, android 4.1.2, if the app has a higher requirement than that, I can't use it

To be honest, I found a number of them lacking completely.  Some of them even forgot where you were in the month long cycle or what your current training max was.  I don't know of any that auto-increased your training maxes for you.

You'll get a lot more mileage out of using the Google Sheets app and let it do the math for you.  Best part is you can set it up on a PC, and just use it from the phone.

I have a 2-day a week one I did myself:

Here's a hint: I started with Excel and imported into Google Drive.  It made the conversion to sheets automatically.

Thanks guys, don'r ask me how because I don't know, but somehow I got it onto drive purely by accident, and even found a setup from beyond 531 that I like already assembled, so somehow i accidentally got it working

Probally will start soon as I finish B2L

I made a 5/3/1 spreadsheet a couple years agoand still use it.

Check it out.

http://mannixcastro.com/2012/09/15/update-531-worksheet-v2-1/

Its setup for 12 cycles.

Can get the weights with or without the barbell included.

Gives you an estimated reps needed to beat your last estimated 1RM.

Charts and graphs and more.

PS:

I used to do 3x/week lifts but been doing 2x/week due to life and other activities.

What you mean it doesn't come up?

You mean the page or the download?

Yeah, i do 2x/week.

For assistance I do 5 x 10 work at differing percentages.

Kinda like Boring But Big.
